The Red weevil is an Indigenous pest to Sri Lanka and many other Asian countries as well. The damage reported though out the country. Young palms at 3 – 15 years age are susceptible for red weevil attack. It is the most destructive pest and causes severe economical damage to coconut palms if not controlled at the early stage the death of the palms is inevitable. This illustrates the nature of the Red weevil attack and control measures.
